The Day Centre is committed to protecting your privacy and security. We aim to keep you informed and in control of the information you supply to us.

This Privacy Notice is to tell you how we collect, use and protect your personal information. The Day Centre acts as a ‘controller’ of the information which we collect about you (‘personal data’). This means that we are legally responsible for how we deal with your data, including collection and recording it (either in written form or on computer), how we store it and use it, and ultimately, how and when it is destroyed.

What information do we collect about you?

Personal Data is any information that relates to a living, identifiable person. This can include your name, address, age, date of birth, gender, and contact details. We may also collect personal and health information for your own safety and well-being when at the Day Centre.

We only collect information that we need to for the safe running of the Day Centre and will not ask for any personal details that are not necessary.

Most of the personal information we collect comes direct from the person concerned. However, on occasion, we may receive data about you from other people or organisations, such as a relative, a doctor, or a care agency, with your permission as far as possible.

How we keep your data safe

All the personal information we hold about you is stored on a secure computer.

We will only keep information as long as it is required, and will destroy it when no longer needed, or it becomes out of date.

What are your rights?

As the owner of your personal information, you have the right –

o To have errors or inaccuracies in your data corrected;

o To have your personal data erased, (in most circumstances);

You have the right to withdraw consent for us to keep your personal data at any time.

Who might we share your data with?

We will never sell your personal data.

We need to share your name and address with transport providers if you need transport to and from the Centre

We may need to share some personal details with a volunteer helper at the Centre if this is essential for your care and well-being.

We may need to share information with providers of health services including GP surgeries, community and occupational health, mental health services and ambulance services.
